This initiative marks a significant milestone in our sustainability journey, reflecting our ongoing commitment to creating a cleaner, greener Uganda.
As a company that produces on-the-go refreshment products enjoyed nationwide, we recognize our responsibility in addressing plastic waste. This new centre is a critical part of our broader strategy to promote responsible PET waste management in line with PepsiCo hashtag#PepPositive sustainability agenda.
By collaborating with Reclaim, we are not only enhancing PET collection infrastructure but also creating real impact at the community level. The Hoima centre will serve as a central hub for coordinated plastic collection and recycling efforts, aiming to reduce plastic pollution in land and water bodies, raise public awareness about proper waste disposal, and support the development of a recycling culture across the region.
Importantly, this initiative also emphasizes community empowerment. It is designed to include and uplift marginalized groups by involving them in recycling activities, contributing to both environmental protection and socio-economic development. It’s a partnership rooted in shared values and a long-term vision for sustainable impact.
